Co-design

In some cases our doors do not fit the design and the general tailor-made options are not sufficient. For these special situations we can help the customer develop a unique door. If the door has to fulfil a variety of requirements (fire resistance, sound insulation, anti-panic, ballistic resistance and/or burglar resistance) a test can also be included in the co-design process.

Generally speaking, the co-design is only a feasible solution if a large number of doors are required. This is particularly the case when door testing is part of the process (the required certificate can only be issued for doors which have been tested).

Example of a project

Merford designed and supplied 765 escape doors for installation in the acoustic barrier along the Betuwe goods transport line. The door was manufactured to match the style of the barrier itself. Despite their curved design and significant weight, the escape doors are still easy to open.
